Welcome. I am Shreshtha Dutta, a trained clinical psychologist and psychotherapist registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
After gaining experience as a clinician, counsellor, assistant professor and an experimenter, I realized my passion lay in therapy.With a holistic purview of psychological practices, applications, and neuroscientific methods, I believe I have a pragmatic approach to psychotherapy. This approach delivers on day-to-day therapeutic needs, as well as nourishes existential and spiritual aspects of one's life. It enhances awareness of being, and ultimately can give meaning to life
I strongly believe that if we truly understand and connect with our real selves and bring acknowledgement and acceptance of how we are dynamically becoming with new experiences and learning, it does open up avenues and moments of self-realization, insights, and strengthening of the intuitive self. With a desire to take my expertise to a wider community, I decided to practice psychotherapy online.
Here therapy is more than just talking, it's about developing a deeper understanding of yourself and your patterns.
The approach I take in the therapeutic process is based on humanistic principles wherein we believe in the inner self of the individual. It is more about finding your truth, strength and potential. You will understand yourself better, which will eventually empower you to unburden yourself from the issues you face.
We are all unique and constantly interact with our environment in our own subtle ways which is congruent with our inherent nature. I put emphasize on understanding your core characteristics, your past, and then we approach your present state of mind.
We further attempt to understand your environment: the internal and external factors that shape your current state. We extend our understanding to the causative factors in your life which might be bringing the concerned issues into existence.
In the process of healing, emotions takes considerable time and energy to recover. Building a better insight into oneself through the problems we are encountering helps in becoming aware of certain patterns which might be present and causing some or other psychological or emotional problems.
My approach to psychotherapy is a combination of CBT, emotional regulation and Mindfulness based techniques, and psychodynamic approach.
The intention is to make the process of self-discovery easy. My approach is to first simplify the entire issue and then build individual belief in one's capacity to overcome personal fears, limitations, negative thought patterns or any other psychological difficulty.
